What is a good single malt Scotch for a beginner Scotch drinker? - macallen scotch

I am relatively new to the malt whiskey in the complexity. What are good choices to start? Above all, I'm smoking on the lookout for something, but not too much peat. Also do not believe it can not be found in most liquor stores, and not too expensive, I can not afford. So far I have tried to Glenfiddich 12yrs, Auchentoshan 10yr, Macallan and 12 years. The Glenfiddich was good, but I think I like better MacAllen. The Auchentoshan is to taste, but peat Tasesa "dirty" to me low.
