I have a V659 and RX-Receiver is a great! I use it for movies, 2-channel and 5.1-channel music and sounds good for everything. I am cable of 7.1 and zone 2, only one output line preamp with a Denon receiver that I my computer is connected to the upper floor. D'B speakers connected to my sample.
An amplifier is easy to use, it has a ball when you need it, and repeat the exception of HDMI that is not really gone. The new models like the 661 and until these "scene" buttons on the front, as a button on a remote activity Harmony acts, but no one really cares whether or not.
The 659 is the ideal amplifier for the money is .... not much else in this area, Burr Brown DAC's inside.
If you try the amp to a couple of films like Star Wars: Episode I hear the battle space host. Also, try some 5.1 DTS music CDs .... They sound incredible ears!
Keep one in your head .... Now there is almost nothing in 7.1, but the more youTLE HDDVD and others come from Sony. 7.1 Receiver artificially created on 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. channels of a 5.1-source.
If you are looking for something, accept it and play the 7,1, make sure that an 8-channel analog input on the back of the receiver. Otherwise, it is not well with the new audio formats can be overcome if they en masse.
